Beauty in the Liturgy: The Role of Quality Music in Our Worship

One of the distinctive aspects of Orthodox Christian music is that it is almost universally a capella (without instruments). Instruments are rarely used in the Liturgy or other worship services. The voice is considered the most perfect instrument for praising God.
Throughout the Festival, people will be able to experience this distinctive music through concerts, background music, and actual worship services.
Deacon Anthony Stokes will conduct the Saint Kassiani Chorale (a Pan-Orthodox choir) in a concert on Friday evening and will present a talk about the role of quality music in the Liturgy on Saturday.
